Leaders of (a section) of Dhunat Upazila Awami League in Bogura have held a press conference against Upazila Awami League President TIM Nurunnabi Tarique. The press conference was held at the party office of Upazila Awami League at 4 pm on Monday.
Golam Sobhan, vice-president of the Upazila Awami League said in a written statement that TIM Tarique said, the mastermind behind the assassination of 15th august was not president Ziaur Rahman Not only that Awami League was involvement in the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family, Dhunat Upazila Awami League President TIM Nurnnabi Tariq delivered this speech. During this time, he gave a speech of questioning the 2018 elections, As a results, the image of the government and the party has been greatly tarnished. Also at the meeting, he sarcastically spoke about Heroic freedom fighter Alhajj Habibar Rahman MP. From a responsible position, he cannot do it. So,I draw the attention of the district and central Awami League leaders to protest his activities against AL and anti-government statements and urge them to take organizational action against TIM Nurunnabi Tarique.
Dhunat Upazila Awami League president TIM Nurunnabi Tarique denied the allegations, saying, “My statement was distorted at the press conference and part of my statement was being spread through conspiracy. To know the real truth, they have to listen the whole part of the speech.
Dhunat Upazila Awami League Vice President Shafiqul Islam, Rezaul Karim, Rezaul Karim Dulal, Joint Secretary Mohsin Alam, Organizing Secretary Shariful Islam Khan, Office Secretary Afsar Ali, Awami League Leader Shafiqul Islam Chan, Joynal Abedin, Shajahan Ali, Ashraful were present at the press conference. Among others Kabir Bipul, GM Firoz Pasha, Imrul Quader Selim, Ekramul Haque Atom, Anisur Rahman, Shamim Islam, freedom fighter Golam Wahab, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Mostafizur Rahman Montu was present.
